Paul was appointed Interim CEO in December 2018. With expertise across multiple areas of healthcare that include Strategic and Operational Leadership, Performance Management, Healthcare Strategic Planning, Business Development, Clinical Governance and more, Paul has an extensive and rich experience of almost 40 years in the healthcare industry across UK and UAE.
Paul started his career, as a Clinical Scientific Officer in 1979 at the prestigious Royal Liverpool Children’s Hospital UK and associated there for 18 years. Having established a distinguished clinical career, Paul then successfully navigated his career through various senior management, executive and leadership roles, including 7 highly successful years as COO at board level at Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust which is one of Europe’s largest and most distinguished paediatric hospitals.
In December 2010 he joined (HAAD) Health Authority Abu Dhabi (now Department of Health – DOH), as the Head of Planning and Provider Performance. He was subsequently promoted to become the Director of Strategy and later Director of Investments and Capacity Management managing the delivery across 56 hospitals and over 1200 clinics and centres. In December 2017 he was appointed as Senior Vice President – Corporate Development, NMC Healthcare.
Paul has a Masters in Business Administration from Bolton Institute of Management. His clinical qualifications include HTEC Medical Physics from Manchester Metropolitan University.
