Aspen Healthcare appoints new CEO

Aspen Healthcare announced today the appointment of a new CEO, Rob Anderson who will start as Chief Executive Officer, effective from 1 July 2019.

Rob has in-depth and widespread knowledge of managing healthcare organisations with a successful track record spanning 22 years in the independent healthcare sector; driving significant success as a Hospital Director and multi-site leader, managing over 30 UK independent sector hospitals during his career.

In 2015, Rob was appointed Operations Director for Spire Healthcare. During his tenure in this post, he was accountable for a diverse portfolio of hospitals and clinics, successfully developing a cancer strategy and managing over 3,000 employees and 2,500 consultants. Rob also had responsibility for overseeing the opening of Spire’s new build hospital in Nottingham, and the achievement of an ‘Outstanding’ CQC rating.

Since leaving Spire in late summer of 2018, Rob has been working an independent consultant, supporting a number of healthcare clients including Care UK’s hospital division and the Lister Hospital in Accra, Ghana.

In addition to these notable achievements, Rob is trained by PWC as a Consultant Partner in the delivery of their OpEx programmes. He is also is an active international hospital surveyor for the well regarded HQS (Ex Kings Fund) hospital accreditation programme, having worked on assignments in South Africa, Denmark, Cyprus, Turkey, Italy, Portugal as well as the UK. Rob brings with him experience working as a senior executive in Provident / PLC (FTSE 250) and Private Equity environments.
