Aspen Healthcare celebrates winning triple Gold at the 2019 UK Business Awards

Less than a month after securing four awards at the UK Customer Experience Awards event in October, Aspen Healthcare is celebrating another quadruple award win after achieving success at this year’s 2019 UK Business Awards (UKBA).

The Holly Private Hospital and Parkside Private Hospital, both part of Aspen Healthcare Group, were individually recognised for excellence at the UKBA event, with The Holly securing Gold in the ‘Customer-Centric Organisation’ and ‘Business Transformation’ categories. Parkside Hospital won Gold in the ‘Wellbeing at Work’ category, while there was also an individual award for David Henderson, Hospital Director at The Holly, who secured Silver in the ‘Inspirational Leader’ category.

The UK Business Awards is a prestigious national event that rewards individuals and organisations who have demonstrated exceptional business performance. The 2019 event took place on Friday 8th November at Park Plaza Riverbank, London, with Aspen Healthcare joining a host of distinguished UK businesses including Manchester United and Virgin Trains.

Parkside Hospital’s ‘Wellbeing at Work’ award was given in recognition of the hospital’s innovative new health and wellbeing strategy, which focuses on the four pillars of physical, mental, financial and social wellbeing. The wellbeing strategy has proven highly effective at Parkside and has since been rolled out across all of Aspen’s sites. Parkside Hospital beat stiff competition from utility retailer Wave Utilities and water supplier Affinity for Business to the Gold award.

The Holly secured Double Gold for transformative work carried out at the hospital over the past three years. This includes the implementation of a new five year strategic plan, the introduction of a rewards and recognition scheme, a new Holly ‘culture’, a new leadership development programme (Aspen People Academy), and most recently a new health and wellbeing strategy for staff. In achieving Gold, The Holly topped a competitive field that included Manchester United, Network Rail and Marie Cross. Its Hospital Director, David Henderson, picked up an individual award in the ‘Inspirational Leader’ category for his positive work in leading the award-winning hospital since 2016.

Speaking about the awards, Noleen Turner, Director of Marketing said:
“We’re delighted to accept these awards and thrilled to be entering the UK Business Awards’ Hall of Fame. I know how much work was involved in developing these initiatives at The Holly and Parkside, and it’s hugely gratifying for our work to be celebrated with a fantastic four awards. These awards are recognition of our commitment at Aspen Healthcare to the continuous development of our employees and delivery of exceptional healthcare to our patients. To succeed in the UK Business Awards is a real reflection of our commitment to delivering that mission.”
