STEP-Up-To-Safety wins at Patient Safety Congress 2019

We’re delighted to announce that our award winning patient safety programme STEP-Up-To- Safety has won yet another award. STEP-Up was recognised in the Patient Safety Congress Poster Competition, winning the ‘Culture for learning and change category’.

The Patient Safety Congress Poster Competition recognises safety and quality improvement initiatives from the UK and around the world and gives healthcare organisations a platform to share and exchange safety and quality breakthroughs with other patient safety advocates, and national and international experts.

The ‘Culture for learning and change category’ award is given to evidence-based, innovative, quality or safety initiative projects that promote a positive, open, just culture that places importance on learning from mistakes. STEP-Up was chosen from hundreds of entries and our initiative was shared with over 1000 delegates who attended the Patient Safety Congress in Manchester on 2nd and 3rd of July.

Speaking about the award, Judi Ingram, Group Clinical Director/Chief Nurse said, “I am very proud of all the work our staff have done to promote and assure our patient safety culture and this continues to be reflected in our great safety record with a continued low incidence of harm and serious incidents – thank you to all our team, and especially our STEP-Up Ambassadors.”
