Haematology

Haematology is the study of the blood and blood-forming tissues.

Our Consultant Haematologists play a major role in diagnosing and monitoring patients with disorders of the blood and bone marrow, for example:

  • anaemia
  • anticoagulation (blood clotting disorders) and blood count abnormalities
  • haemophilia and other bleeding and clotting problems
  • iron deficiency
  • leukaemia and related blood cancers
  • lymphoma
  • myeloma
  • myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS)
  • sickle cell disease
  • thrombosis

Our Consultant Haematologists work in partnership with doctors across the hospitals/clinics to ensure you receive the highest standards of care, from start to finish.
