Quality Standards

Each Aspen hospital/clinic monitors and reviews a range of performance measures including: infection control statistics, patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes.

We ask our patients if they would recommend our hospitals/clinics to others requiring similar treatment and seek feedback on a range of measures including their overall opinion on:

  • the quality of care
  • the overall cleanliness
  • trust and confidence in our nurses and Consultants
  • if they were treated with respect and dignity.


In 2018, Aspen Healthcare hospitals collected over 10,000 completed Patient Feedback Questionnaires. Inpatient and day case ratings for key issues were as follows:

  • 98.9% of patients said they would be ‘Likely’ or ‘Extremely Likely’ to recommend us
  • 99.6% of patients were happy with the quality of care
  • 94.8% of patients had confidence and trust in consultant staff
  • 99% of patients had confidence and trust in nursing staff
  • 98.8% of patients had provision of privacy when discussing their condition or treatment
  • 99.5% of patients were happy with the overall impression of admission
  • 99.4% was the rating for overall nursing care
  • 99.3% was the rating for control of pain management
  • 99.2% was the rating for our overall cleanliness
  • 98.2% was the rating for overall catering
  • 98.7% was the rating for discharge procedures
  • 98.5% of patients said they were treated with respect and dignity.

IHPN represents over 200 hospitals that provide services to insured, self-paying and NHS-funded patients.
